berlin - to sleep

There are so many choices when it comes to where to lay your head, from luxury to budget, and depending upon how much time you are depending on actually being in the hotel, as well as the location.  More often than not I do use www.booking.com for my hotels.  For many years I preferred to book an apartment, however due to recent legislations there are less apartments nowadays so normally opt for a hotel.

Schöneberg

There are so many hotels in Schöneberg around Wittenbergplatz U-Bahn you will have options for all tastes and budgets

Riu Hotel - This hotel is where I normally stay, as its a great location for the shops and bars in Schòneberg. It is nothing unique and a typical corporate hotel, but It's quite new so the rooms are nice, many on high floors have great views of the city, and a good gym - to help with the Beer - hotel-riu-plaza-berlin

25Hours Hotel - Very cool hotel in the new Bikini Berlin building. Monkey Bar is worth a visit even if you don't stay here  - www.25hours-hotels.com/en/

Das Stue Hotel - My new favourite hotel, that I only discovered recently. Rated the coolest hotel in Berlin right now by Forbes, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. You will pay a lot but truly worth it for a treat - www.das-stue.com

Hotel Zoo - Very nice cool hotel right on the main shopping avenue, Kurfürstendamm - http://www.hotelzoo.de/en/

Mitte

Mitte is arguably the heart of the city, with all the main tourist sights on your doorstep, as well as many of the original cool bars and shops of Berlin. These are  3 of the most opulent hotels in Berlin, but each worth a visit - even if only for a cocktail.

Hotel Adlon - This 5 star historical hotel, famous for its view of the Brandenburg Gate, as well as the hotel where Michael Jackson dangled his baby from.  Great location in Mitte  - www.kempinski.com/en/berlin/hotel-adlon/

Soho House - As you'd expect from the Soho House group, Cowshed Spa is worth a visit, even if you don't stay here - www.sohohouseberlin.com/en/hotel

Hotel Rome -  Posh, opulent and quite simply stunning.  Bar and restaurant for non-residents is worth a visit - www.roccofortehotels.com/de/hotels-and-resorts/hotel-de-rome/
